PNB Union Bank has received approval from the government for its proposed merger with Andhra Bank and Andhra Corporation Bank. The merger is expected to reduce the number of public sector banks to 12. Union Bank held a face-to-face meeting with Andhra Bank employees in Machilipatnam to discuss the merger.
